Bricks and mortar: Soft skills are key to professional development

Starting out in industry can be bewildering. Aside from learning the day-to-day practicalities of the role, young professionals need to get to grips with a range of soft skills – some of which may be easier to grasp than others.

As part of EG’s new podcast series – Bricks and Mortar – which covers topics relevant to those just starting out in the property world, EG speaks to Nicky Richmond – managing partner and head of training at West End law firm Brecher.

After more than 30 years as a property lawyer, Nicky has an array of tips and advice to share on subjects that she mentors in from how to manage difficult clients, to marketing yourself effectively, working a room, delegation and managing email overload.
